Winter Seminar Series I - Composites (January 19 & 26)

01/19/2023 06:30 PM - 01/26/2023 08:30 PM ET

Description

This January as a part of our Winter Seminar Series, we are offering an in-depth option for supporters and sailors to spend more time on their choice of shop topic. The three topics to choose from are sail loft, rigging, and composites. You can only choose one, however, there will be a chance to check out the other projects and ask the staff questions during the session. To complete the project, you are required to attend the January 26 session from 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm and the cost for both sessions is $50 total.

Composites - Form a mold of foam, wood, or even a spoon. Then learn how to lay up carbon onto your mold using basic composite building skills. Lastly, students will learn the vacuum bagging process to finish their projects into a rigid piece. At the end take your project home, or let an Awlgrip clear-coat dry and pick it up after it dries.

Space for the Composites series is limited to the first 10 registrants. Snacks are included, however, bring your own drinks.
