We've been asked to offer a ZOOM session for each. It won't be the same but you are welcome to join and follow along at home. This is an in-depth option to spend more time on your choice of shop topic. The three topics to choose from are sail loft, rigging, and composites. There there will be a chance to check out the other projects and ask the staff questions during the session. To complete the project, you should plan to attend both the January 26 session from 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm and the cost for both sessions via Zoom is $20 total.
Below are materials you'll want to have on had to follow along at home
Rigging - Make your own mini sheet, lanyard, or dog leash using three separate splicing techniques. Materials needed Marlow ropes modern double braided line with core, dog clip, needle, whipping twine, a fid or a 'puller' and plyers
Sailmaking: Make your own ditty bag. Materials for one bag: Two pieces of fabric (14 1/2”-18”), Zipper (14 1/2”), Double sided tape, Sail tie or 6”? Webbing
Composites: Make a cool dinner bowl for light offshore racing 1 yard carbon cloth, West System epoxy, stirrers, gloves, a bowl to provide the mold, wax, sand pape 180 and 220, clear coat
