Collaboration and Celebration New Orleans LA

Collaboration: March 22 beginning at 12:30 pm and run up to a party like only NOLA can provide!

In New Orleans the Collaboration Working Sessions will be held at the NOYC - NEW ORLEANS YACHT CLUB and there will be tours of the newly opened Libby & Robert Alexander community Sailing Center.  We can't wait to discover this new location.

There will be three working sessions (explained here) where we will roll up our sleeves and get to work on sharing information, thoughts, questions and tips. This is moderated by Oakcliff but we are very much looking forward to sharing what we think we know, listening and learning with all of the local organizers and athletes and as we go around the country we will continue to share  cumulative results.

NOTE WE ARE ADJUSTING TO FIT THE LOCAL SCHEDULE:  If you can stay the whole day you will be blown away with the information.

12:30 to 2:00 c) Organizers, Waterfront Directors, Coaches, Club Managers, Fleet Captains, Opti Fleet Leaders etc. etc. - What do we do best?  Define our lanes? Someone else in the area keen to take something off my plate? Go for it!  How can we help each other?  More isn't always better? Should we go slow to go fast? Small to be better?   

2:00 - 3:00  b) Parents and those planning and providing funding - It's not just the parents. Do you have a Foundation? Where are other funding sources? Is corporate sponsorship an option? Corporate hospitality events? Co-working options? Athlete looking for funding? Grants? Sponsorship? Need to figure out how to have a 'job job' and still sail.  We'll go over the options.

3:00 -4:00 a) Athletes of all ages - What are your dreams? Plans? Options? What needs to be considered? What are the give and takes? Make an informed decision about your path forward to Olympics, Big Boats, Boat Ownership or a Career on the water.   You'll go home with a personalized draft Mind Map of your future.

4:00-5:30 - we'll circle back on topics that we haven't had time to fully explore and have tours of Community Sailing

Celebration! 

For the Celebration Stephen Murray and Bob Kottler have generously offered to host the party.  It will start at 7:00 and the address is 3227 Coliseum St. New Orleans, at the corner of Coliseum and Pleasant.    When you register there is a $10 fee which will go to scholarships for Community Sailing Students and an option to make an additional donation to that cause.
